In the Department of Business & Logistics, students learn business logistics. Business logistics is that part of the supply chain that plans, executes and controls the efficient movement and storage of goods, services and related information from source to point of consumption to meet consumer needs. Among the many areas of business logistics, transportation is a key issue in logistics, and multimodal transportation using railroads, trucks, and ships began in the 20th century. However, in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, we are evolving into an era of smart logistics combining multimodal transportation and various science and technology. Smart logistics requires consilient talent with problem-solving skills and talent with systemic thinking. Our department aims to nurture talents that various business logistics companies want by focusing on cargo management and transportation. In particular, in order to meet the trend of smart logistics, we aim to nurture talents with management and economic mindsets as well as new logistics-related technologies (big data, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, blockchain, Internet of Things, etc.).
